Acupuncture for Allergies

According to Chinese medical theory, symptoms and signs that indicate a western diagnosis of allergies relate to imbalances in the meridian and organ Systems of the body. These imbalances may stem from a variety of cause, including stress, poor diet, constitutional weakness, pollutants and environmental toxins.

The Chinese concept of Wei Qi is similar to Western concept of the immune system. Wei Qi functions to protect and defend the body against foreign substances. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine support and strengthen the system of the body that is involved in the production of Wei Qi.

In our office, we use a natural allergy elimination technique (NAET) to eliminate or greatly reduce your allergies. It incorporates the ideas of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, kinesiology and allopathy to clear the allergy from the body. NAET includes muscle testing to determine the allergic substance and stimulation of specific points on the body using acupuncture or finger pressure.

NAET works for all ages, including infants and the elderly. For children those who are sensitive to needles, we use finger pressure to stimulate the acupoints rather than acupuncture.
